Beneath The Depths of My Skin

$300.00

Memoir of The Unseen (mini series - 2/4): Not judging a book by its cover, is the true essence of dealing with mental health, with trauma, with the unseen scars, with life. Overcoming that takes more than meets the eyes, but once you do, the feeling, the freedom, it is, oh so good.  Learning to let go of what once kept you afloat and embracing the growth within yourself, is the goal, it’s my goal. This series depicts a time in life and through its simplicity and spoken words I’m overjoyed with the ability to remember and not relapse.

About the art: Beneath the depths of my skin, I carry scars never seen, scars reflecting all the suffering and the unimaginable struggles I endured. Still, I managed to survive. Beneath my skin I ached for many years, for many nights alone I cried, For many days alone I starved, So many times alone I stayed. At times, I wish I could forget the past, I’d love to move on with life and remember nothing. But how could I forget? my past made me who I am, and if you looked beneath my skin, then you’d see the real me.

Original acrylic painting, on cradle panel (1/2), 8x8 inches, framed (1.5”), ready to hang
