It's OK, To Not Be OK

Animal Spirit (mini series - 2/4): While working on creating my art collection for 25 Days Of Minis, I noticed subtle changes in my mental state. With the completion of each painting, I felt more at peace; a calming sensation I had not felt in decades. I couldn’t explain what was happening to me. I had not made any recent changes in my life, except that I started embracing my disabilities and not let it drown me.

About the art: Living with depression is similar to riding a roller coaster; one minute you are on top of the world and the next you are falling, and there’s no way to stop yourself from falling. But just like in a roller coaster, how you hold on to the hand of the person riding next to you, I want you to reach out in those moments that you are falling. Reach out to your support system, find the inner warrior in you to help you elevate yourself. To transform your life and not let depression take over.

Details: Original acrylic painting, on cradle panel (1/2), 6x6 inches, framed (1.5”), ready to hang.
